Sunrise Singers was founded in 2017 when two participants in my summer singing workshop suggested we could do an online choir. I was honoured by the suggestion, and also a little skeptical. But we talked it through, and started that fall: 8:15 in the morning for the Nelson singers, which is 5:15 PM for me in Norway. I’ve learned to conduct with a delay, and they’ve learned to listen extra well. Today Sunrise Singers is a group of nine women.
